I'm having a weird problem with Firefox. Occasionally, images that I'm viewing on websites will become corrupted. The image will look like it has been cut off, and sometimes is completely black. This applies to website backgrounds, profile pictures on social media websites, and just images. Imagine a web page that uses two images, 1.jpg and 2.jpg. 1.jpg is a picture of, let's say the Firefox logo, and 2.jpg is a smiley face. 1.jpg is corrupt, so it looks something like this: http://s17.postimg.org/wtm9ndlpb/firefox_logo.png 2.jpg isn't, so it looks like a normal smiley face. The Firefox logo is being used as someone's profile photo, and the person has posted multiple comments. The profile picture next to every comment they made will look like that. Right clicking the image and viewing it at its source will display the same thing. Now, this could be a problem with the website, but I know that it isn't because clearing the cache and refreshing the page causes the image to load correctly. The problem occurs on multiple websites, and refreshing the page without clearing the cache will not fix it. Here's another example of this problem: Pretend that a Firefox logo is stored at https://www.mozilla.org/images/firefox.png. Two websites, e.g. Google and Yahoo, place this image somewhere in their website. If the image at https://www.mozilla.org/images/firefox.png is corrupt on my computer, it will be corrupt on Google and Yahoo, too. Can someone help me with this problem?

Soluție aleasă

This can be an issue with the graphics display driver or hardware acceleration.

  • [/questions/1048972] turning off hardware acceleration fixed my image loading issue. is there another way around this?

Thanks. I'll try that and see if it works. For now, I guess that I'll mark this as the answer.
