How do I turn on Predictive Text in Firefox for Android?
When typing in Firefox on my Samsung Galaxy S7 predictive text doesn't appear and I can't find an option in settings to turn it on.

Hi
Thank you for your question. This does not sound like an issue with Firefox for Android, but something that you can change in the Android Settings:
- From the app drawer, open the Settings app.
- Scroll down to Language & Input (or equivalent).
- Open the keyboard listed as the current keyboard - for example "Google Keyboard".
- You should see various predictive text type inputs.
I also recommend that you update your copy of Firefox for Android so that you have the latest security and stability fixes as well as new features. You can read more about how to do this here.
I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.
Thanks for your reply, however that's not the problem.
Predictive Text is already turned on for the phone and shows up in text messages and the like. The only place predictive text doesn't show up is in Firefox.
I'm running Firefox for Android version 44.0.2. No other updates are currently available.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I still haven't found a solution for this. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks.
Hi
I have had a chat to the Firefox for Android development team and they have advised that predictive text should work when you are typing in websites, but not in the address bar.
Unfortunately, predictive text doesn't work anywhere in Firefox for Android. It works everywhere else on my phone, but not in the browser. I've also noticed that I can't edit text that I'm typing. If I make a mistake and want to go back, the browser won't let me move the cursor. It stays at the end of the text.
Hi
Under Languages and Input in the Android Settings app, which keyboard are you using?
Are you using the Google Keyboard or a dedicated Samsung Keyboard?
I'm using the Samsung keyboard. I don't have any other keyboard options in settings.
Does installing the Google keyboard solve this issue?

I think this is a problem with compatibility in the "awesome bar", extra keyboards seem to be incompatible, I have the same problem with using the Swipe keyboard on Sony Xperia.

Seems like a very counter-intuitive thing to do when the address bar is also the 'awesome bar' where you can do web searches.
