Firefox is unusable in macOS VM with HiDPI

I installed macOS in a VM (in VMware Fusion) and enabled HiDPI so I can have retina resolution inside the VM.

When I try to use Firefox inside the VM I can't see the menu and the welcome screen appears to be twice the normal size. (No other apps have this problem.)

Can this be fixed in the config?

I still have this problem.

Setting layout.css.dpi did not help. Are there any other settings I can tweak?
