Hello, I've been using Thunderbird for years. This evening, I started getting the message: Sending of the message failed. You specified that this message should be digitally signed...

I can get around it by disabling under Options the "Digitally sign this message." The email is sent fine. However, the option is automatically enabled after I send the message, so I have to keep clearing the 'Digitally sign this message." Thank you in advance for your help. David

The settings for signing are in the Account Settings, where you set up which keys to use (for signing/encryption) or turn it off all together.

I'm guessing that it has turned itself on. I take it that you haven't ever deliberately enabled this feature?
