I used to be able to use Firefox to listen to YouTube and also browse other tabs or switch my screen of but suddenly I can't it's broken!!!

I have been using Firefox on my android tablet and phone. suddenly in the last few days I have noticed that when ever Im in a different tab or turn my screen off YouTube or any other video would stop. Ive had this app for alittle over two years and never experienced this until a few days ago, I've tried looking for answers and come up with nothing I tried reinstalling it going through all the setting for the app it's self and in the desktop application. I have tried everything on my phone and tablet I need help!!! :(

This seems to be a change on the mobile YouTube site. A user in the following thread suggested the workaround of using Request Desktop Site:
