When clicking on volume icon it says "you have 2 messages"...not exactly helpful. How do I get the icon to work so I can change the low volume level to something workable?

I wonder why a "volume" icon would have a "messages" counter, especially when Firefox doesn't directly do "messaging".

Which volume icon and where is it located in the browser window.

Please provide a screenshot and mark what you are referring to.

See this support article. How do I create a screenshot of my problem? It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.

My volume icon is in the sys tray and now has a red "x" on it. There is no longer a message telling me I have messages!!!! Thankful for that Clicking the red "x" does nothing......I mean NOTHING ! Never had this in 30 years of computer work.

Then you got Sound driver problems. Something has corrupted the driver or messed up it's settings.
