Very suddenly, Google Hangouts no longer works with Firefox, as of the evening of June 11th. I tried Firefox add-ons but they don't work. I can open Google Hangouts page, but cannot use the messaging utility. I used it for years until last night. Apparently, a plug-in is missing or doesn't work.

Hello johnhenrick,

Would you please take a look at this :

https://support.google.com/hangouts/answer/6191867?hl=en

(scroll down to "Hangouts doesn't work on Firefox")

But as this only just stopped working for you, maybe you could try this :

Reload the page : Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button or press 'Ctrl + F5' or press 'Ctrl + Shift + R'

Another thing to try :

Clear the Firefox cache :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache

"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/delete-cookies-remove-info-websites-stored (scroll down to : "Delete cookies for a single site")

If you use extensions like Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery, then always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

You could also check your settings here :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/content-blocking

If none of the above do the trick, then let's Try Firefox in Safe Mode :

If Firefox is not running : Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running : 3-bar menu => ' ? ' (at the bottom of the dropdown) => 'Restart with Add-ons disabled'. Then OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click 'Start in Safe Mode' ( not 'Refresh' !)

See : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

And : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems

This has nothing to do with your current problem (at least I don't think it does), but would you please read this article :

Clearing the cache did the trick. Google Hangouts now works, again. Thank you for your help.

I've kept my Firefox browser on Ubuntu 19.04 up-to-date. Running version 68.0.2 (64-bit). I can not make or receive phone calls using either Hangouts or Voice. It was working OK and then stopped working. See https://support.google.com/voice/thread/12580451?hl=en#. I installed Chromium and both Hangouts and Voice are working OK. Someone broke Firefox's capability to make voice calls. Please fix.
