I have 2 gmail accounts. Firefox takes me to the wrong one. Microsoft Edge does work.

I have two Gmail accounts that differ by one digit in the email address. Firefox takes me to my wife's account but won't let me access my account. I can get into my account using Microsoft Edge. Originally I had two bookmarks for the two different accounts. Now both take me to my wife's account

Websites use cookies to recognize you and once you are logged in then this authentication cookie is send with each request, so you need a way to have separate cookies for each of you. You can either use a separate container for each of you if you do not want to use a different Firefox profile or possibly use Private Browsing mode (containers do not work in PB mode). PB mode has the disadvantage that your login state is lost once you close all PB mode windows or close and restart Firefox.

See this article for more info about containers.

That's how Gmail works. You can login to your account using the Private window.

When I first setup my Gmail accounts both bookmarks worked to allow access to each account separately. So when did "That's how Gmail works." happen? What is a "Private window"?

Click the ≡ menu -> New private window

I was having the same issue. Mozilla / Gmail kept logging me into my daughter's account even after I clicked on "log in as a different user" After some digging on Google's Help sections, I found this link BURIED somewhere on there. I've already cut/pasted this address for my Gmail shortcut button in my Favorites Bar! The link seems to completely log me out of BOTH accounts, and it says "CHOOSE AN ACCOUNT" so I can choose which account I want to log into from Step 1 !!

Enjoy!!

P.S. LOL! I keep clicking on [ "NO" not helpful ] to all those completely RIDICULOUS answers to "just open a private browser." That is stupid, and doesn't solve ANYTHING that the OP asked, it is simply a work-around.

I tried this and set a Bookmark/Favorite for the link. I then was able to select either my own or my wife's Gmail account. However, when i used the bookmarked link a second time it recognized me and only allowed me into my gmail account. Which is where I normally want to go but does not solve the problem of being able to access both accounts.

Nevertheless thanks very much for this creative approach.
