When I read my incoming emails the same emails are shown in my inbox as new emails no matter how many times I read the same emails.

At times, I will mark the emails as unread, read them and I have to do this exercise several times until I either delete the message or print the email.

Are there any updates on how to fix this issue?

Please help! Thanks

PS I tried the repair folder and it was a temporary fix.

Please note: Do you have any product like CCleaner or Cleanwise or even an Anti-Virus which has set up to clean up temp files as they might be deleting session files etc before preferences get saved. If yes, then do not allow those products to scan any file or folder in your profile name folder. Check that first.

In Thunderbird - Do you have this setup:

  • Menu app icon > Preferences > General
  • Scroll to 'Reading & Display'
  • Select 'Automatically mark messages as read'
  • select 'Immediately on display'

If you make any changes - Restart Thunderbird.
