Captions don't update when window not in focus (Alt Tabbed)

I tend to stream YouTube and other online video streaming services via Discord and I tend to also have captions enabled but when I Alt Tab to get into the discord call captions do not update. I've tried going into private mode, safe mode and tried a new profile with no dice. Waterfox doesn't have this issue and it wasn't always present in Firefox, at first it happened randomly now it happens all the time. I've also tried other voice chat apps and have confirmed it's not a Discord issue with Firefox.

Any ideas?

Oh a quick correction it occurs when I alt tab and full screen view both using the full screen button when you're in a discord call as well as maximizing a window.
