add bookmarks from local html file

I followed instructions for adding bookmarks from html file. Got to "import from html" page shows No Items. There does not seem to be a way to select the local html file. I am using ubuntu 22.04.

Took screenshot but add images browse button does not bring up file list.

Can your Firefox interact with local files at all, for example, through

  • (menu bar) File > Open File
  • right-click a blank area of a page > Save Page As...
