Setting Firefox as the default browser does not work, and posted fix doesn't work
Setting Firefox as the default browser does not work and the fix posted at the help site does not work, primarily because Firefox does not show up in the program list.

Two methods:
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > System Defaults section, check "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup", click "Check Now" button, answer pop-up. See: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Options+window+-+Advanced+panel#General_tab

- Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.5
- Java Plug-in 1.5.0_16 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper)
- Very old version. You may want to remove before installing current version. Link to nstructions below.

- Note: plugin check page does not have information on all plugin versions
- Update Shockwave for Director
- NOTE: this is not the same as Shockwave Flash; this installs the Shockwave Player.
- Use Firefox to download and SAVE the installer to your hard drive from the link in the article below (Desktop is a good place so you can find it).
- When the download is complete, exit Firefox (File > Exit)
- locate and double-click in the installer you just downloaded, let the install complete.
- Restart Firefox and check your plugins again.

- After the installation, start Firefox and check your version again.
