When I open several tabs, the system gradually slows down, the used physical memory gradually increases, and so does the CPU time (as I can see from the Windows Task Manager), until the system becomes unmanageable. What can I do?

I am having the problem at the moment.

It always happens, few hours after I have restarted the system, started Firefox and opened few tabs.

The problem becomes critical when the "paging file memory" reaches 1 GB and over. At the same time the CPU time cycles between 0% and 100%

I've had this problem as well with the 11th beta of version 4. On my computer, a Phenom II quad core running on 2 GB RAM Windows 7 (plenty of power for Firefox 4 beta), firefox.exe gradually increased its RAM usage to around 1.2 GB before crashing, even if I was closing tabs. There was no way around it other than to monitor it constantly and reboot Firefox when it got to nearly a gig.

I'll keep an eye out and see if this problem continues now that I'm using beta 12.
