MSN won't open email in Firefox

I deleted the various default programs for Mailto links in Firefox, I then registered Hotmail for mailto links (See: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/881433 ). I noticed after all this that the button in MSN Messenger no longer did anything and reading up on it said to set Firefox as the default web browser via Default Programs found in Windows Control Panel, Firefox already was the default so I set it to Internet Explorer then back to Firefox, now the Email button in MSN Messenger opens in Internet Explorer...

Never mind, when I closed and re-opened Firefox it prompted me saying it wasn't the default browser even though I told Windows to make it the default Browser and when I answered "Yes" it resulted in Firefox being used by MSN Messenger etc. to open emails once again :)
