In fact, I can't say I have problems with firefox, it works fine, but I don't know which one to ask. It is about some infamous zinkwing search. Since few weeks ago, I had problems with that thing: it was redirecting me from google.com, when I type something, or when I try to follow some link, to some page zinkwink.com, or some fake pages (I guess they are fake)... I used registry cleaner and wise cleaner to get rid of that thing, and I made it in some part: now it is not redirecting me from google.com, or any other search engines homepage, when I want to search for something. But still I can see it is not removed! :( When I try to search from search bar with google, yahoo or any other search engine, it doesn't give me the results from google or yahoo, it redirects me to wiznkwink.com giving me some crap (sorry for expression...). Also when I type something a little wrong to address bar, or just want to search for something via address bar, it also redirects me to zinkwink.com (previously (before this zinkwink problem appeared) I had some webs search which was fine). So I can't use search bar or address bar properly! :( Do you know how could I solve this problem, but reinstalling OS? :(

I also tried changing address bar search, and when I copy/paste that url for google search, few seconds later, zinkwink appears back in front of my eyes!

Soluție aleasă

Zinkwink seems to be attached to a number of possible additional tools/plugins that you may have downloaded or installed.

For example: Complitly and VShare are commonly cited as programs that add zinkwink. So you'll have to uninstall them. Then you can go to Tools > Add-ons and remove/disable all the extensions you don't recognize. Then, you can change the keyword.URL preference and it should be reverted.

See What to do when searches take you to the wrong search website for specific details.

Well, now I tried that and I disabled all tools and plugins that I don't now for sure what they are for - even those which I think I know, but not for sure... This solved the problem with search bar! :) Now I have no problems with search bar.

Location bar is in the other hand another story. When I change search engine of location bar to Bing for example, it works great with no redirection. But after I turn off Mozilla and start it again later, or when I just restart it, zinkwink reappears again as my location bar search engine. Now quite in fact: when I search with location bar it send me to zinkwink, and just after visiting zinkwink.com I am being redirected to my Bing search results. If I take a look at that place where I was setting location bar search engine, I can see that bing.com which I entered was replaced with zinkwink.com again, but as I said: it is not like before. Before my final destination was zinkwink.com while now it is bing.com, which is good.

The only concern of mine is the fact that that process is still running, and I still don't know which process is that. Anyway, search bar is way more important to me, and as I don't use location bar frequently I find this problem of mine solved! :D

Thanks for giving the advice!
