Where did the "save session" tab just to the left of address box come from? I didn't add it and I can't seem to remove it.

Could you check on whether you have a session manager extension? This is the page to check:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category

You might want to just disable all nonessential extensions and only keep the ones you know you use active.

Can you get rid of the icon?

Or... if you want to keep the functionality of the extension but lose the icon or move it somewhere else, you can use the Customize feature to drag the icon to the Add-on Bar, etc.

orange Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout or
classic View menu > Toolbars > Customize

Any luck?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

I attached a screen shot of my problem. I hope this helps you all so I can figure out where it came from and how to delete it.

You will see the other one. I d/l that one and use it exclusively.

Thank you in advance.

Does that toolbar button have a tooltip?

I understand that you can't remove that button by dragging it in the Customize window.

Is that correct?

That button may have been added by an extension.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
