My tabs keep connecting, effectively halting all activities, often with not responding message. Same in safemode. Rebooting provides only temporary fix.

Tabs read connecting on a regular basis, freezing up all activities until reloaded, only to repeat several minutes later. Pages slow to load. The same issues occur during safe mode. Rebooting Firefox seems to temporarily solve the problem, but within an hour issues return.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Thank you for your suggestions. I'm ashamed to admit I am a techno-spaz, and am afraid to start something I can't see through. That being said I've since discovered the problem occurs primarily when my lap top is running hot. I know its not ideal, but I've taken to shutting it down until it cools off and that seems to have helped. Once again, thank you for your consideration.
