Is there any way to disable the setting (?) in version 28.0 that blocks the exchange of text between Firefox and other software?

Since version 28.0 of Mozilla Firefox, our word prediction software Skippy can no longer interact with Mozilla. It seems like additional security measures were taken to disallow software from picking up what is being typed and sending new text to Firefox. Is there any way to circumvent this or is there an advanced option that can disable this functionality? Or could there be any other cause?

Thank you

Have you done any "standard" troubleshooting in Firefox?
Like maybe tried the Firefox SafeMode?

Have you contacted Key Technologies about that incompatibility?

Yes, we tried SafeMode but this didn't resolve the issue. It doesn't seem to be related to any specific user setting, since it affects every one of our users (Jabbla develops Skippy) from the moment that they update their Firefox to version 28.0 or perform a fresh install of version 28.0.
