After downloading the latest Thunderbird update (24.5.0), I can no longer download emails.

I just downloaded the latest release, and my email apparently is no longer connecting to my server. I tried reinstalling Thunderbird and rebooting my computer with no success. My server settings are correct, and have not changed since last night. When I used an older version of Thunderbird on a different computer, I was able to download just fine.

Great. I don't know what it is about some upgrades or some firewalls that it makes this change. I use Norton and have never had it change on me through all the upgrades. But others seem to have it happen quite a bit.

Check your firewall and see if it blocked the new version of Thunderbird.
