Websites keep cycling back to the page already open
In the last two hours, my firefox browser has stopped working properly. I have tried all the usual fixes: cleared caches, history, cookies. Checked my default search engine, etc. All of a sudden my browser stopped loading the websites properly, none show up right when I click on the down arrow to bring up my most commonly visited sites. Also, when I click on ANY of them, they will not load. The only thing that causes them to is by typing the full url or by going to google and typing them there.
I am uncertain what else to do. I am uploading an image of what my drop down bar looks like currently.

Do you recall getting search suggestions on the address bar before? I wonder whether that's a new feature, or is from one of your extensions.
Speaking of which, in case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the address bar in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).
Any difference?
In your More System Details, there is a plugin that has the description "Toolbar Plugin". What is that? You can review your plugins on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Here you can set anything unknown or nonessential to "Never Activate" to rule those out as possible issues. The changes might not take effect in the same window, but you can test in a new window (Ctrl+n).
Note: If you want a list of Always Activate and Ask to Activate plugins that you can copy/paste, you can use my test page here: https://jeffersonscher.com/res/jstest.php (scroll down to get to the plugin list)
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

- Places Maintenance: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
