Synd isn't working across multiple Mac devices.

I am trying to sync Firefox across multiple Mac devices. I have updated Firefox on all devices, created an account with one computer which had all my bookmarks and add-ons (clippings). I then followed the instructions and logged into Firefox on another device. Firstly nothing synced across, secondly, all the bookmarks in my toolbar disappeared from my primary Firefox computer and I can no longer get them to appear even though they are still in the background. Each time I try to sync I get an error at the bottom of the browser that says there is a server issue. Any one with a Mac know how to solve this?

Hi Simon, I understand that there is a server error. It is possible that there might be a connection error, however it most likely has since resolved. To make sure, please first make a back up of your Firefox profiles: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles Then please delete the sign on file in the profile called signedInUser.json and log back into the account from accounts.firefox.com.

  • How do I turn on sync logs:
  1. Open about:config and turn on: services.sync.log.appender.file.logOnSuccess and services.sync.log.logger.engine.bookmarks
  2. Restart Firefox and look at: about:sync-log
  3. Logs and error messages will be located here
