FF used to save just user name at login. New version stores both. how do i save user name and not passwprf
How do i make the new version of ff (44) store user names but NOT passwords as the old versions used to - like for my banking accounts that have long numerical account names. The new version stores name AND password which i do not want. how do I fix this? Having to now type my full username every time I loging to my bank account is a pain in the ***!

You might want to look into add-on password managers for one that meets your needs or requirements.

The Firefox Password Manager / Logins Manager has never saved the Username alone. More than likely, the Username alone was being saved as "form data" and not in the Password Manager. And from what I observed with Firefox 43 and the 'new' Logins Manager that isn't happening any longer; I don't see a Username alone getting saved as "form data". I don't know if that was a purposeful change, or just the way the Logins Manager works.
if that is the case, its a stupid change -- almost no-one is going to want their bank pw, etc saved. Nor do they want to type in a 16 to 20 digit user number every time they want to access the website. Mozilla should change this right away. Sometimes change for the sake of change is not a good thing
