... I have severe proprioceptive issues, painful rsi in my typing arm, and pain in my off arm too. I have trouble typing. Is there any way to tell what I have typed into the master password field?

Hi MarjaE.

No. The master password once set cannot be recovered without data protected by the master password being deleted (that's the purpose of the master password to not be able to bypass). Please see Reset your Primary Password if you've forgotten it.

Thanks, but that's not what I was asking about.

I know my password. It's not likely I'd mis-type it the same way twice, though I've had trouble with sites truncating passwords or changing characters the same way twice.

It's very likely I'll mis-type it different ways any other time.

I have trouble typing. I often have to correct what I've typed.

Is there any way to tell what I have typed into the master password field?

Or any other password field?

Try this extension - not sure if it will work for the Master Password, though: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/show-my-password/

About this Add-on Once this extension is installed, just move your mouse over the password-field and the password is shown in readable letters . By default the password is shown after a 2 second delay (customizable) to prevent un-hiding by accident. You might also choose un-hiding by context menu click. More useful options available.

A possible workaround would be to type the text elsewhere and then past the text in the master password field.

Note that you can make stored password visible in the Password Manager by double-clicking the password in the password column or via the right-click context menu.

Thanks, but it isn't working for any of my passwords.
