IBM Security Trusteer Rapport no longer shows in address bar to protect web pages like online banking etc. Can no longer use Firefox as my default browser until you fix this. It appears to have stopped working when I installed your last security update. Greg Wright

Update the IBM Security Trusteer Rapport plugin.

Reloaded Trusteer Rapport after it stopped working in Firefox, but still does not show and protect the page. Switched back to Explorer as my browser and Tusteer Rapport works fine. But not in Firefox.

Many plugins like Trusteer Rapport need to be updated with every new version of Firefox that is released. Been like that since the days of Firefox 4.0 or 5.0.

Ask your bank about an update for Trusteer Rapport.

Yes, it may work in IE, but IE only gets a new version every few years. Microsoft has IE built into Windows and when Windows get updated IE may get updates at the same time; IOW you can't tell when or if IE gets an update.

If this is free software provided by your bank, my personal experience is that it is not needed and probably of rather speculative value.

The Banking and shopping sites I use work perfectly well without use of Trusteer software. Note Firefox already has anti phishing software built in and active by default

I'm not familiar with how Rapport integrates with Firefox. Does it use a plugin, or an extension, or both. Could you check the Add-ons page for that information? To open the page, either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions.

Then look for anything from IBM/Trusteer on the right side. If it is disabled, it will be at the bottom of the list on a grayed background. Do you find anything there? Often clicking the small "More" link will provide more detailed information if it is blocked; otherwise, try clicking its Enable button.

In the left column, click Plugins.

Then look for anything from IBM/Trusteer on the right side. If it is set to "Never Activate", it will be at the bottom of the list on a grayed background. Do you find anything there? The small "More" link will provide access to version information. If it's disabled, you could try setting its permission to "Always Activate" and see whether that works.

Is there a program that would replace Trusteer Rapport and work in Firefox v.50.0?

more options

Doubtful there is a Plugin that will replace Trusteer Rapport;

http://www.trusteer.com/en/support Firefox version 50 is not currently supported.

Please contact your bank about this issue. IBM created Trusteer Rapport for various banks and that plugin is supplied thru each bank for their customers. Not accessible for download by consumers.
