When I go here, for example:

https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/11/light-pollution-energy-LED-bulbs-spd/

and attempt to press play on the video, firefox pops up with a dialogue that says "Can't play this video"

This also occurs on other videos on this site. Is it possible to make them play?

When I sign in I get an error Proxy Error "The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /aem-proxy/." I clicked on GET /aem-proxy/and tried a video and it worked fine for me might try a clean install..It seems their website might be experiencing some issues as well

I tried doing what I should have started with, and disabled all my extenstions. It turns out uBlock origin was preventing the ad reel from playing. However, when I whitelist that (or turn it off completely) and attempt to play a video, I get the ad, and then when the content should appear, I get the ad again. So it's one step forward.
