Do not panic, you have choices. I have never had a issue with Firefox Passwords without the manager. will repeat with out the manager. Have read posts only of not getting in and I would not know. People tend to be using Last Pass. Yes have to help them at times to mostly contact Last Pass for help.

Was a issue I think with Mcafee and Firefox, you can check the Mcafee Forum for issues if any still.

Update your Video Card Drivers, very important.

As not being bad you say can start with this and still have issues, there are other solutions : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Pkshadow: Your reply to my question(s) are outstanding. The paramount problem I have with the entirety of the assemblage is that (1) I am terrified of instigating major changes; losing files, bookmarks, etc., and (2) to be candid, although I am strong as a PC user, manipulating directives can be a downer for me if I am not familiar what can occur, as I can not imagine the procedural or visual how-to, and (2) in general, deleterious outcomes that I am not qualified to handle. Bottom line, formidable info, but overwhelming to comply with on my own. But O'boy, you are most definitely "The Bomb!"

Here are a couple of examples: I once refreshed Firefox and, OMG, what a mess. Lost irreplaceable files, bookmarks, etc. Next, recently with advent of 57.0 (currently 57.0.2 ) I lost all 100+ Firefox Password Editor websites! I am having McAfee delete the back remnants of the program. the former might have terrific security, but it is problematic and much too complicated and severe to deal with. Great for business, but not a program necessarily needed in my case, home and personal.

If you have further commentary, please, please do not hesitate to do so in depth. I will most definitely secure your received information. All I need now is a mentor! -:)

Please see my reply to Pkshadow. . . that is, I am appreciative of your reply; well received! I am interested, but even though going back to 52.5.2 would be great for a limited period of time, one loses some of the advantages of later version upgrades. So will I am tempted to do it, it would only be a temporary patch so to speak.

However, the clincher is what I commented to Pkshadow earlier, the 100+ websites in Password Editor (Legacy), were in part lost and only a small portion remained to export to McAfee SafeKey, which was a huge mistake because all, every last one, was lost therein. Unbelievable.

Last Pass: Well, if it is as straightforward as Password Editor was, great!

UPDATE: Following further exceptionally upsetting circumstances wherein True Key never performed correctly for me, amidst troubling conversations with Customer Service and Technicians, plus two remotes, I finally bit the inevitable bullet and totally decapitated McAfee Intel True Key Password! This is not to suggest that my experience replicates others' experiences with it . . . . I have had McAfee Internet Security on-board for approx. 3-years and have no complaints. I just thought it appropriate to put paid to the posting that I initiated herein. Best to All, Be Safe & Healthy in 2018!!

You can check if you have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop in case the Refresh feature in Firefox has been used and a new profile has been created.

You can copy files like these with Firefox closed to the current profile folder to recover specific data. Note that you should be cautious with copying SQLite database files if you previously had problems.
