FF refuses to enter usernames,it only inserts passwords, how can I fix this?

more options

I have all passwords and log in info saved to firefox so it wil auto fill in usernames and passwords.

PROBLEM: On several sites ,even though it has all the info saved, and shows it in "saved logins",it refuses to enter anything in the username space making it immpossible to log into sites without doing it manually. Once I enter the username it fills in the passwords but this is just not acceptable and makes the browser useless to me as it makes everything a huge hasle just to log into a site.

Is there anyway to fix this besides going back to chrome???

Are you using any password add-ons?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Close Firefox first. Then start it while holding down the <Shift> key.

I opened it into safe mode and the problem still exist, there are 2 important to me sites that refuse to do anything.FireFox asked to save the passwords and log in info the first time I signed in,I even impoted the passwords from googl and still these 2 sites refuse to work.If I click on the password field the context menu shows and fills in the password but when right clicking the username field there is no fill in log in option at all. This issue is still present in "safemode"I even reset the whole browser and still no luck.I deleted the sites and their infor and rentered everything manually,it saved the passwords but not the login username,a box pops up ask to save password but their is no username.I added the usernames manually but it wont make them available when I try to log in again.

Hello all,I am still having this issue on 2 sites where firefox refuses to enter the username even though it has the information saved in the saved logins option. This is a very frustrating thing, both chrome and IE have no issues filling in the info for these 2 sites so what is the bug that is in firefox that is causing this. There should be an option in FF to force username and password insertion if this is going to be an ongoing issue. It makes me feel as though there is something wrong with FF somewhere and does not give me confidence in it. I do not want to use a password manager as I dont want to trust some unknown person or entity with that information. While it is true the password manager in the browser offers little security from someone who has physical control of the pc,as long as no one gets there hands on your pc or you are not sharing a pc it is pretty much secure.

The big problem I have with this issue is that if I have to manually enter the information everytime I log in that negates the security of an auto fill and allows for key logging to be possible. If I never type anything into any fields except when my pc is offline then there is no issue with this.

Please can there be a fix for this or somehow be figured out why FF has this problem? I really do not want to have to resort to going back to chrome and I will never use IE no matter what as I trust MS about as much as I trust hackers! Google is also not acceptable IMO as they are well known for taking snap shots of login info, key logging, and spying on ever page you visit and they do it well beyond an acceptable and useful limit.

If I was tech savvy I would delve into the code for FF and try to find the reason this occurs on some sites. If all other browsers work with the sites then it is clear the problem lies within FF somewhere and this is not a new issue.I have tried FF over the years several times but always end up back with chrome out of pure frustration because of this exact problem.

Everything about FF is superior to chrome except this one issue. Is it possible for the devs to address this issue and fix it since there seems to be no immediate solution or work around to this issue?

I would suggest using a form filling add-on. This could be set up to enter the username only for those sites.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.
