I want to retrieve messages from my RoadRunner mail server and delete them from the RoadRunner mail server when they are downloaded. I'm using Thunderbird 60.x. I do not have a checkbox in settings for 'Delete from Server'. Apparently, the last time this question was answered was 2017. That article does not solve my problem.

Thank you in advance for your help.

If you do not have that option in your account settings you are using IMAP. This is only an option in a POP setup. This is email standards and has nothing to do with Thunderbird or the version you are using. Move your messages to folders under the Local Folders account if you want local copies that are not on the providers server.
