I have Manual Proxy configuration set on both windows and linux, the proxy and port can be edited for HTTP, HTTPS and FTP, but the port number currently entered for the SOCKS Host cannot be edited. Backspace nor delete seem to work and only the far right digit can be edited at all but does not appear to be saved when clicking OK.

Can you modify the port number with cursor Up/Down after setting focus to this field ?

I have exactly the same problem on Windows. This reproduces even in safe mode.

I have the same issue on Windows 10, I can change all the proxy settings EXCEPT the socks ones.

For some reason unknown to me the IP is set as 142.93.44.251 and port as 3128. I can only change the port to 3129 or 3127 with the cursor keys.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Thanks for your reply cor-el but neither of the suggested steps had any affect on the problem.

However I found the settings can be reset/removed from the about:config page, just search for "proxy".
