Hi,

when I set my browser language settings to English (United States), the urls in the "One-Click Search Engines" settings change, too.

For example: When I change the language to german, the search engine for amazon gets "amazon.de". Changing it to english sets it to "amazon.com".

Basically, this means I cant use this feature properly (since I cant seem to add amazon.de, either) if I choose a language different from the country I live in.

Is there any solution? I tried to find English (German) language settings, like I set in my operating system, but there is none.

You can remove these search engines (or disable them from One-Click Search Engines by unchecking them) in Options→Search. Then, either search for an Amazon.de search engine addon or go to amazon.de and right-click the search bar to add it as your search engine. See Add or remove a search engine in Firefox

Tipp: Use keywords with your one-click searc engines. This allows you to, for instance, type "wiki goethe" and immediately jump to de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=goethe, which redirects to the desired article on J. W. Goethe. You can even do this with bookmarks: Bookmark Keywords (not to be confused with Tags) are advanced settings of bookmarks that allow very fast access with your keyboard. You can, for example, set Facebook's bookmark's keyword to "fb" and Facebook comes up every time you type "fb" and hit Enter in the address bar. You can even Assign shortcuts to search engines, so if you search YouTube a lot, you can add the YouTube search engine: Add or remove a search engine in Firefox and set its keyword to "yt", so when you type "yt cats" in the address bar you automatically search for "cats" on YouTube. Or you can use the bookmark keyword feature (not to be confused with tags!) in combination with the "%s" search parameter to alter a parameter in your bookmark's URL. For instance, if you set the keyword "r" for bookmark "reddit.com/r/%s" (you need to manually alter the address in Properties to add %s), typing "r aww" into the address bar will redirect you to "reddit.com/r/aww". This is useful for search engines that have not been implemented as Firefox add-ons (e. g. "google.com/search?q=%s&tbm=isch" will search Google Images), pages of a PDF ("file:///C:\Docs\long_document.pdf#page=%s" will redirect you to specified page), subpages of your own webpage that has no search function ("example.com/%s"), etc.
