Today when opening Thunderbird I only see one tab is open. Until now after closing the tabs which were open reappeared when I reopened Thunderbird. One of the tabs is the calendar. What do I need to do to ensure that if some tabs are open and I close Thunderbird they reappear one I open Thunderbird. Thank you.

It sounds like the session data is being cleaned up. Do you have any cleanup programs like CCLeaner that operate on your computer?

Thanks for your reply. Indeed, I had just used Bitdefender before this issue occurred. Now I am looking for a way to disable this feature. With Google I find ways to uninstall Bitdefender. I wonder whether there is any other way to do this without uninstalling.

I would see if there is a way to exclude the Thunderbird profile folder. If you have profiles stored in default location, then the 'Thunderbird' folder would be here: C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird

Please tell us ... Have you sorted out your problem? And was it related to Bitdefender ??

I have sorted out the missing tabs issue. I have not been able to recover the missing e-mails. I do not know but I suspect that it is related to Bitdefender. That is because Bitdefender takes ages to work, has to be closed and then restarted, and I lost the e-mails in my In box while Bitdefender was grinding on without progressing.
