Bookmarks spacing way too padded
There is FAR too much spacing between bookmarks. I hear that this will be made optional in the future. So: 1) When will this be out? 2) What other ways will work besides w a i t i n g ? 3) No CSS recommendation please...
Thanks !!!

Since you run Firefox from the Ubuntu repositories you can contact Ubuntu support and ask them to add this feature to their special branded Firefox version as they usually make other modifications as well. Using code in userChrome.css isn't that difficult and if you have done this a few times and have some basic understanding of how CSS works then you can make Firefox appear like you want.
You can Add code to the userChrome.css file.
@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */ menupopup > menuitem, menupopup > menu {padding-top: 2px !important; padding-bottom: 2px !important;} *|*:root {--arrowpanel-menuitem-padding: 2px 8px !important;}
It is not that difficult to create userChrome.css if you have never used it.
The first step is to open the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" page and find the button to access the profile folder.
You can find the button to go to the profile folder under the "Application Basics" section as "Profile Folder -> Open Directory". If you click this button then you open the profile folder in the Windows File Explorer. You need to create a folder with the name chrome in this folder (name is all lowercase). In the chrome folder you need to create a plain text file with the name userChrome.css (name is case sensitive). In this userChrome.css text file you paste the CSS code posted.
You need to close (Quit) and restart Firefox when you create or modify the userChrome.css file.

In Firefox 69 and later you need to set this pref to true on the about:config page to enable userChrome.css and userContent.css in the chrome folder.
- toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets = true
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
