The new folder selector in the Folders pane is great except it needs a faster way to refresh the list

In versions previous to 91, I could quickly switch from UNREAD to ALL folders and back to UNREAD in order to reload only the currently unread folders (i.e. clearing the ones I had processed previously).

Now, I need to deselect UNREAD which automatically selects ALL (fine so far), but when I reselect UNREAD, I need to then manually deselect ALL. It would actually be great to have a "REFRESH VIEW" option in the Folder Pane Menu dropdown. That would make me happy.

I'll get used to the additional step, but I think a REFRESH VIEW would be useful. For example, in the morning I might have 25 unread folders. As I go through, it's nice to drop out the ones that I've read from the list.

Thanks!

Have you tried using the Unread button on the Quick Filter Bar (Ctrl+Shift+K)? If you click the button, then the pin icon on the left (see picture), the same view is applied to every folder.

Thank you SFhowes, I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I am discussing a behaviour in the Folder Pane only, nothing to do with the message grid.

In the Folder Pane, if I select UNREAD, I see only folders that have messages to read, all the others are filtered out.

Once I go through the bulk of my folders (mailing lists, news, etc.), I no longer want to see the folders in the UNREAD view of the Folder Pane. The only thing I've found is deselecting and reselecting UNREAD to refresh the view in the Folder Pane. This is, by the way, consistent with the message grid option you described. If I have some unread messages and I want to see just the remaining ones after reading some, I have to deselect and reselect UNREAD or, if the push pin is engaged switch to another folder and then back.

This brings up the suggestion of a refresh option for the message grid as well.

Thanks!

I guess I still don't understand. With the Folder Pane Toolbar shown, clicking the ... and selecting Unread Folders shows the unread folders above All Folders (see picture). Clicking ... again and deselecting Unread Folders returns to the All Folders view.

That does work, but it requires me to have ALL FOLDERS visible as well. I haven't counted recently, but I have 20 years + of email in this system with perhaps 300+ folders, so having the ALL FOLDERS view up all the time is not something I want/need.

It's just if deselect UNREAD FOLDERS it automatically shows ALL FOLDERS. When I reselect UNREAD FOLDERS, I then need to turn off ALL FOLDERS, which is an extra step. I guess I could leave it on.

I'll try it that way.

Thanks!
