Importing Outlook 2016 to TB
Gmail has advised users (or at least me) that Outlook 2016 will no longer work after May. Being on pension, I don't have the money to upgrade Outlook, so I thought I would try a free mail application like Thunderbird. I was able to install the latest version of TB and connect to my Gmail account without a problem. However, I would like to import the saved e-mails and address book that I have in Outlook. Every time I try, I get an error message: "No application to import was found" or "No Address Books were found to import" or "Unable to find mail to import. Make sure the mail application is correctly installed on this machine." I have used Outlook for years so I think it is installed properly. Any suggestions?

I'm really lost. I downloaded MailStore Home and archived/imported my Outlook e-mails into MailStore as suggested in your first reference. When I attempted to do the export from MailStore, the export to Thunderbird client option fails with the error message "Selected profile does not have a configuration for local folders." I don't know how to enter a configuration. So I then tried to export using the Directory (File System) option, which appeared to successfully download 2608 emails to my hard disk, BUT 2701 error messages said the "message could not be retrieved from the archive."
I would suggest that once the Outlook data is collected by MailStore, export it to eml or mbox format, both of which can be imported to TB Local Folders with ImportExportTools NG.
