How do you block adverts on 4OD with AdBlocker Plus; without also blocking the actual video?

I've seen lots of posts from people claiming that they can block the adverts on Channel 4's website, 4OD, so they can play the videos ad-free. On some posts it says the latest version of FireFox does now allow this. I've installed a previous version of FireFox, installed the add-on AdBlocker Plus and used it. I played a 4OD video and waited for the adverts in the middle of the programme and hit 'block' - and it did indeed block the adverts.... as well as the programme I was watching. I couldn't find out how to unblock it so I've disabled the add-on for now. So - how do you block JUST the ADVERTS while letting the programme play? The adverts on 4OD slow my computer down amazingly and take an age to load through FireFox and they take up my bandwidth (and frankly I don't want to pay to watch adverts, I'm not on totally unlimited bandwidth on my payment plan). The 'advert breaks' actually take longer than the ones on TV for some reason and often they play more than three adverts per break when three is all you're supposed to be forced to watch. I'm not sure if AdBlocker Plus caused the adverts to load slower or if it caused more adverts to play than just three. The adverts load faster and stick to just three if I use a different browser (such as Opera or I.E.). I'm not up to date on my computer tech these days so I'm not sure how the filters work and if a filter will be the answer to my problem. If someone could please suggest a tried-and-tested.working solution I would be very greatful. (Or at least tell me if this feature has been permanently binned to comply with Channel 4's wishes.) I will provide more information as requested about my system etc should it be needed as I know I am not the only user having this problem. However I'm using FireFox version 3.6.23 (because that was a suggested solution to blocking the adverts on 4OD that hasn't worked) and my OS is Windows Vista. I may update my version of FireFox again seeing as this 'solution' didn't work and I downgraded only for this reason. Thank you in advance for your help and guidance. :) Yours - Binks

I'm not getting a reply from the AdBlocker forum. Does anyone know why this feature no longer works automatically with FireFox? It's really a seperate question as to how AdBlocker works. Is there a way to get this to automatically work with FireFox? If not then I will just update my version of FireFox and then keep on trying with the AdBlocker forum..... assuming someone will answer my questions there. :/ I'd still appreciate an answer to the FireFox problem even if I have to find seperate answers specifically as to how AdBlocker works. Thanks. :)
