Firefox recently asked if it should remember my user name when I sign in to my Fidelity a/c. I said yes. Now it not only remembers the user name but also the password. I want to undo this and go back to entering the information. How do I do it?

To remove the password (you will be asked for master password )

  1. Tools ("Alt+T") > Options > Security > Saved Passwords
  2. search on fidelity.com (or fidelity. )
  3. select the applicable item(s), and press "Remove"

If you wanted to see the saved passwords you can get to them from that there, but you will be asked once more for the master password to actually view the passwords.

Not sure if you wanted to see the userid or not when you double-click on the username. If you don't then

  1. Tools ("Alt+T") > Options > Privacy > Show Cookies
  2. Search on fidelity.com
  3. remove all fidelity cookies, they tell Firefox there is a password

Try login, see if it works for you and will turn off the remember password. If it doesn't work then remove all your fidelity cookies as above.

If you do not want to store fidelity cookies at all make an exception on the Privacy dialog such by clicking on "Exceptions" next to cookies, And create a entry for at least fidelity.com with a setting of block. The exceptions will always override your default, and can even be the same as your default just in case you change something else later.
