BTYahoo mail cookie security hole on firefox 13.0.1

more options

OK, a PC running firefox 13.0.1 and two users, both on BTYahoo email.

Previously this worked fine - just log out of the main email account and log into the 2nd user account, and all was well.

Since the latest upgrade to firefox, we find the system works until the main user is logged out of WWW.BTYAHOO.COM, the 2nd user logs in and all appears to be well....

THEN, the system drags and the main user account email inbox is copied into the inbox of the 2nd user. The only way to get rid of the unwanted email is to manually delete all mails.

This is not good when you have parallel platforms like smartphone, and blackberry playbook as the mail is copied into each separately and so THREE long delete processes have to be performed.

This problem only exists on FIREFOX - there is no error when using internet explorer, the mail has definately been copied over as it is visible even when viewing from internet explorer as well as the mobile devices.

It's hard to picture how this could happen.

Can you prevent the problem by shutting down Firefox and starting up in a new session between accessing the first and second accounts? (By starting up in a new session, I mean NOT restoring your tabs from your earlier session.)

Do you use any add-ons or external security software that manage/block/clean-up regular browser cookies or Flash cookies?

A standard suggestion for when you have a problem with one particular site is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

1. Clear Firefox's Cache

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"

2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here (this usually will log you out)

While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Then try reloading the page.
