Hi. I have composed a HTML signature file using TB which includes a JPEG image of my company logo. When I send emails with the signature attached they are not received by the recipient. When sending without the signature they are. Any ideas why?

Occasionally, a signature may trigger a spam filter. This could be based on the text, on the file name of the image, or perhaps some other characteristic. Do you have another account you can use for testing, for example, sending from a Hotmail account to a Gmail account?

Hi, Apologies for the late reply. I have now tested HTML signature with other accounts and it works fine. I've gone back and retested with TB and it is still not being received at the recipients address. I've checked the file, saved the image locally and ran other suggested diagnostics with no luck. Any ideas.

Since you are not getting any error messages sending or any rejections from the receiving server, I could only give you guesses.

If you paste the signature into the message instead of using the signature feature, does that make any difference?

If you experiment with including or not including the image, keeping everything else the same, does that make any difference?

I've copied and pasted the signature from the HTML file created by TB feature and again the recipient email address doesn't receive it. I then copied and pasted the file but deleted the image and the recipient receives. I then re-saved my signature as HTML file using the TB feature but did not include the image and again the recipient receives. Obviously the problem lies with the image but why, it's a straightforward jpeg of 35kb 194x 49?

In addition to the above both the image and the signature created by TB are saved locally.

I could only guess. Could you try a different file name and see whether that is an issue?

Images included in your email signature, including your logo, show up as attachments and can cause your email to get caught in anti-spam filters, especially if images are more than a few kilobytes (KBs). They also make it difficult for your recipients to figure out which of your emails have attachments that actually need their attention.

For a branded look with an image, consider an email signature company that hosts your signature on a server that automatically loads images once the email is opened — no attachments! Check out Wisestamp, My eSig, Sigwich and Stationery Central. Fees and compatibility vary.
