Firefo has just upgraded itself to 33.0.2. Since then when I try to download a PDF from my website, the PDF shows a failure. It works fine in all other browsers. If I try to save the file, instaed of opening it, I get this message: C:\Users\Harry\AppData\Local\Temp\ctl3Uk4R.pdf.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read. (it always gives this message, but is fine in all other browsers)

Hi,

Can you try following these steps please:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and click Options (for Linux and Mac Preferences) button.
  2. In the Options (for Linux and Mac Preferences) window, select the Applications tab.
  3. In the Search field, type PDF. You should find Portable Document Format (PDF).
  4. On the right hand side you should find an Action column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose Preview in Firefox. If you don't know which one to pick, choose Preview in Firefox.
  5. Try the PDF file again.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

We have the exact same problem and it doesn't matter which action is selected. The files seem to get corrupted on download. It only seems to happen in Firefox 33.0.2. In our case, it happens for PDF files that are generated (e.g. from a PHP script), but not everywhere. We use Magento and I've seen some more reports on the internet of people not being able to open Magento generated PDF files anymore since Firefox 33.0.2 came out.

Hello,

This problem is still there in 33.0.3. I was worried this day would come, but I've had to switch people over to Google Chrome :(

I hope this can be fixed soon.

Cheers!
