How can I save a username and password when nothing pops up asking if I want to save my password? There are several sites like Paypal and I'd like to store my password.

Sites already save my passwords. I want to add some sites that don't already ask me "do you want to save the password". My Remember box is checked already. Thanks for the suggestion.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
