The bookmarks are all there, but how do I restore the folder's name?
This is a strange one. Today I noticed that one of my important folders was missing from the Bookmarks Menu (Library). It turns out that the individual bookmarks all seem to be there in order, but the folder icon and name have disappeared. How this happened I don't know.
Is there a simple way to restore the folder? I probably could do it by recreating the folder and dragging the individual bookmarks to it, but there are a LOT of them and it seems a bit error prone.
BTW I realized that the bookmarks had not disappeared because I use the wonderful add-on Parent Folder, which lists the folder names of all the bookmarks in a separate column, analogous to Tags, Location, etc.
Thanks to anyone who can provide assistance.

Are you saying the entries are still there, but not in the proper folder?
Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.
I think there are add-ons that can properly display the bookmarks so they can be read properly.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Thanks to FredMcD and cor-el both for your suggestions.
It is going to take me a while to work this out, as my time is limited at the moment. I will reply again once I have made some progress, or sooner if I haven't. ;-)
