Cannot watch HTML5 videos on youtube
When I set my YouTube preferences for HTML5 content, I can no longer watch videos (however, flash works). The video starts and the sound plays, but the image is all black.
I am currently running Firefox 37.0 on Fedora 21 x64. I already tried the 'Referesh Firefox' button on the 'about:support' page, to no avail. Here is the output from 'about:support':

Hello there,
Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem.
Follow the easy steps below on how to start Firefox in Safe-mode:
Click the menu button, click "Help" and select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled".

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode start window to disable all extensions.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit"

You may not have proper support for all media types on Linux that YouTube offers. Make sure that you have the latest GStreamer updates.
Does it has effect if you toggle the media.gstreamer.enabled pref to false on the about:config page?
Are there any media related errors in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer)?
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Indeed, setting 'media.gstreamer.enabled' to 'false' did the trick. After doing that, videos started to play as expected. I also checked my GStreamer installation and found it to include all the usual plugins (good/bad).
Is disabling GStreamer the solution to my problem, or is there a downside? I am on a pretty standard Fedora 21 system; I am not aware of anything unusual about it. However, it seems that I am the only one affected by this problem, which seems a bit strange.

I found the downside: The highest resolution I ever get is 360p.
