Using v38 on Ubuntu 12.04. I foolishly allowed Ubuntu to do updates and now pipelight does not work in Firefox, so I cannot visit Silverlight websites.

Pipelight still works in Midori browser so I don't think there is a problem with an updated pipelight, or Wine. Pipelight does not show in the list of plugins in Firefox, can you tell me how to check it's status in command line, or help me get it working again in some other way? Using pipelight is very important to me. I reinstalled it as per: sudo apt-get remove pipelight

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:pipelight/stable sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install --install-recommends pipelight-multi sudo pipelight-plugin --update

Then install the silverlight plugin:

sudo pipelight-plugin --enable silverlight

Thanks

I understand that pipelight stopped working for Silverlight videos, are there any DRM errors? You are not alone in this issue, most recent search in the past month others have noticed fullscreen issues. The only answer close to one I could find is: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2279053

Firefox for Linux does not support DRM yet, as it came to Windows via Flash's Adobe Primetime DRM. You can check if this has mistakenly enabled in about:config or the about:plugins page.

Wait--- try this on the home page there was an update that says "We now implemented a hack to always return Firefox as User Agent to the plugin independently from what browser you are using. In the ideal case you should now be able to disable the user agent switcher in your browser." Looks like you need an agent switcher -> http://www.ubuntugeek.com/pipelight-0-2-6-released-and-ubuntu-... The reset is beyond my knowledge.

Hi Thanks for trying to help. I probably should have said that I am not trying to view DRM or any streaming. I use pipelight for accessing www.skydemon.com which is an interactive graphics type of site (for planning flights). But it doesn't matter what I am wanting to use it for, since as soon as I enter the web site, I am redirected to the "install silverlight" page.

Anyway I will try your suggestions when i have time to think them through

Thanks
