WHY CAN'T i MANAGE MORE IN SYNC?

I've updated to the new sync but now I feel I have far less control I can't see how much data is being stored - whereas I could before. I have less access to my information and I have no idea where it is I feel quite dis-empowered by the new sync set up and cut of from MY data which is completely antithetical to the Mozilla ethos. 1, how has this happened 2, can this please be fixed? Fundamentally, someone has confused sleekness and simplicity with less information and less user control - having less control and contact with my data is not sleek and simple it's actually quite distressing!

Chosen solution

Where appropriate we are sometimes able to discuss workarounds or alternatives. But in something like this there will have been prior discussions and decisions made elsewhere so there is nothing we can do other than follow what goes on elsewhere.

You may also leave feedback, that is analysed; largely by automated systems I think; and abstracts made available to developers.

I am not sure exactly what issues you see. Yes the new sync is simplified and gives you less control. There is little chance of such changes being reversed, but we are only fellow Firefox users helping one another.

The Developers and decision makers use a mailing lists and fora here:

  • forums
    • Please read etiquette then look for previous discussions, or start one yourself if appropriate and within the scope of that forum e.g.

If you do post elsewhere in Mozilla feel free to come back to this thread and cross reference the new discussion as others may be interested in following your discussion.

Yep that's the issue.

Thanks - and for the following I was not aware of where to post or where not to.
