When exploring a website (any website ) the HP (Wired USB Model HMD1) mouse will freeze, the pointer will not move when moving the mouse left/right/up/down, but I can scroll the page up and down by using the scroll wheel. If the mouse point does stop on a link on the page i can access it with a left click. the right button does seam to work to, i can open the sub menu. Closing Firefox 54 does not release the mouse, the computer must be rebooted to regain mouse controls. This problem started after the up grade to version 54. I do love Firefox but this is annoying.

Hi, Can you provide some more information please : Does this problem persist while using IE or MS Edge ? Have you opened the Task Manager to see what resources are being used by FireFox or something else ? You could try turning off some of your Extensions that you do not use on a daily basis to see if that helps also. Have you updated your mouse driver ? Did you install any new software before this issue started ?

Can you try another mouse in case there is a problem with the mouse you currently use?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect.
