Hello, get 56.0.2 from here: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/56.0.2/
Install an older version of Firefox I don't recommend this.
Check out the changes in the Browser:
- Customize your Firefox New Tab page
- Photon is a new design that creates a fluid, native experience on every operating system. There is more room above the tabs, so you can move your windows, the search bar and address bar now have the option to be combined or separated, and the menus in Firefox are organized by common tasks.
In order to customize all your favorite functions, you can use the ‘Customize’ setting in this new menu. Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars
Thank you for your help,it is getting a little late for me tonight, will have to try and fix this tomorrow.Wish me Luck !! Thank you for getting with me. Sincerely, jilljoy
If my solution worked, please mark as solution, so others can fix this issue for themselves.
New firefox has ruined my setup and i am so pissed. i want it back - instead i have all this commercial looking crap and none of the webpages i had saved so nicely. they are gone and so will i be if i can't fix this ASAP. I have no time for this.
did i mention it's also really ugly and my beautiful background is gone too.

See this to learn how to get the old Bookmarks Menu button back on the Toolbar. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/bookmarks-firefox#w_how-do-i-add-the-bookmarks-menu-button-to-the-toolbar
i want Fast Dial back !!
See this and scroll down a bit: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fast-dial/
About this extension Note: The Fast Dial will stop working in Firefox 57 with the Webextensions exclusive requirement for addons. See https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2016/11/23/add-ons-in-2017/ for details.
Sorry, not possible for that extension to be made compatible with the new WebExtension format.
