Hello, I want to use OurStickys addon : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ourstickys/ but I am not sure whether it is safe to do so.

The privacy policy web page is not loading: http://ourstickys.com/privacy.html

Although, the privacy details in "About this extension" states that: "Privacy is very important to us. We do not store any sensitive information and we make sure that the information is not accessible by anyone. No third party web application, nowhere to register, nobody to trust your data with. NO DATA in any form will be shared with anyone."

I have read the Mozilla Add-on Policies which states that: "You must disclose how the add-on collects, uses, stores and shares user data in the privacy policy field on AMO" Link: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/AMO/Policy/Reviews#Data_Disclosure_Collection_and_Management

So, is it safe to install and use OurStickys addon?

This page? http://ourstickys.com/privacy.html That whole site seems to be down at the moment.

The extension has been available (and not updated) for over 18 months, so I suspect if it was sending data out, someone would have reported it by now. The reviews do not mention privacy problems, but it seems the extension may break some websites and that it might not sync correctly among your Firefox installations.

Thanks jscher2000 for the quick reply.

The users cannot be sure whether the addon is sending data out and hence there may not be such reports, which is why there are privacy policies (or some terms to adhere) for websites, apps, operating systems etc.

So, is it safe to install and use OurStickys addon as per the Mozilla Addon Policies? (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/AMO/Policy/Reviews#Data_Disclosure_Collection_and_Management)

Incase, the addon is sending data out then what rights does a Firefox user have seeing that the privacy policy field is filled on AMO but the site is down or not loading?

Hi jacob750, I don't have any more information than you do, sorry.

The Wayback Machine at the Internet Archive doesn't have any captures of that page, either: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://ourstickys.com/privacy.html

I see that it is difficult to answer this but I would like to ask from the point of view of a worst case scenario.

Any rights a Firefox user has incase the addon is sending data out? (I don't want to sound as being too strict, I hope this is ok).
