I am using the latest version of Firefox and videos do not play unless I am in Safe Mode.

Videos do not play unless I am in Safe Mode (for example, in www.weather.com). I do not have any extensions or add-ons installed, I am using the default Firefox theme, and I have tried unchecking the box for using hardware acceleration. Videos do not play unless I am in Safe Mode. I am unable to figure out what else is different in Safe Mode that enables videos to play in Safe Mode but not in regular mode. Thanks.

Hi islandkruzer, Try disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection for that specific site by clicking on the shield icon at the left end of the address bar and clicking on the button to turn it off. The page will Reload automatically.

This will set an exception for that site in: Options -> Privacy & Security -> Enhanced Tracking Protection -> Manage Exceptions

I already tried that but it did not help.

However, I was just playing around in my CCleaner app (under Tools, Browser Plugins) and noticed that there were numerous Firefox extensions listed that were enabled that do not appear in Firefox (under Add-ons, then Extensions). Once I disabled these extensions in CCleaner, the videos miraculously started working in Firefox. Now I want to know why these extensions did not show up when I selected Add-ons in Firefox . . .

Hopefully they will stay disabled.
