my firefox and chrome toolbars are live synced, if i change one they both change, but they were seperate but are now merged. how do i stop this

more options

somehow the bookmarks toolbar on chrome now reflects my Firefox bookmarks and all my chrome bookmarks seem to have been sent to the end of the "merged" bookmarks toolbar. to find them i need to hit the >> and scroll down a long list.

If i move them around on chrome or firefox the changes are reflected on the other browser.

If i delete one it deletes from both.

How do i unlink the two, and how the heck did they become linked?

I run two different browsers at work for different purposes so each has a different set of required bookmarks.

You have this extension installed in Firefox - iCloud Bookmarks 2.1.23 (firefoxdav@icloud.com) - which would cause bookmarks in Firefox and Chrome to merge if you are using an iCloud Bookmarks extension in Chrome, too.

I am not seeing anything in your Firefox itself which can do this. I don't see many things on the web which could do what you describe, without some user interaction.

If you can figure it out, package and sell it, you can probably make some serious money.

Like, live?

You might want to check your Chrome extensions as well.

yes, Live, i.e. if i delete on firefox it also deletes on Chrome within seconds whilst I'm watching it!

I don't have any extensions added that do this.
