Hey, so I use Mozilla's Facebook Container and Reddit enhancement suite, and some other addons.

These two however, Facebook container is not opening a container page for facebook anymore and any facebook related page that would load in the CP is now just not loading. Ofc i can just disable it to use the page but I do quite enjoy reducing facebooks control over my time on the internet. I cannot figure out why it is doing this.

RES is also not loading in while I am using it, all of it's features are just not working or not present.

I have uninstalled both of them and reinstalled and tried to reset their settings but nothing has changed, any thoughts ?

Hi Punxc!

Well, my thought, not using Facebook, but using the open free WordPress and Linux Mint, is that "Facebook container" was made to stop Facebook from tracking you on the web, but since all malware (software running non-free non-trivial software on your computer) usually want to do such things, they might have done something to block you from this freedom.

In the case of Facebook, one workaround might be to use NoScript or LibreJS together with m.facebok.com, maybe through Tor-network or VPN? Then I believe you would not run non-free non-trivial javascript on your computer and Facebook would then also not be able to track you.

This is probably only true if you are using an open free hardware and and open free operating system too. Otherwise the malware (non-free hidden) might track you anyway, of course.

For "Companion for Reddit" by OinkAndStuff it is is certified as 100% Free of malware by Softpedia Labs so this not working is a clear sign of malware obstructing it.

Come back to us and tell us if this solved your problem!

Are containers otherwise still working ?

You can check the container settings in "Options/Preferences -> General -> Tabs".
